Ending a Game
A game ends when a team reaches the target score under your win condition. Everything that happens next is automatic.
The result
You'll get a summary: final score, who won, and how long it took.
Under Win By 2, reaching the target isn't enough — the game continues past it until someone leads by two. Under Win By 1, hitting the target ends it immediately.
When PaddleRank is awarded
At the end of the game, provided both teams had at least one registered player.
What lands:
Game points — earned from the game itself.
Win Bonus — a flat +10 for the winners. Losers get +0, not a deduction.
Challenge points — if the game completed any active challenge.
Kickers — bonus points for particular kinds of play.
Then the multipliers apply. Your points scale by where you played (Source Multiplier) and who you beat (Opponent Multiplier).
Losing doesn't cost you
Worth stating clearly because it's unusual: the win bonus is +10 for a win, +0 for a loss. A loss doesn't subtract.
Your Regular PaddleRank reflects cumulative activity and improvement over time, so playing more is never a risk to it. Play someone far better than you and you may earn less — you won't go backward for trying.
The opponent multiplier reinforces this: it applies to wins, and any loss is no change.
This applies to Regular PaddleRank. Ranked PaddleRank, which is coming, is a fluctuating competitive rating where losses do move you down. See How PaddleRank Works.
When it doesn't count
If either team was entirely guests, no PaddleRank is awarded to anyone. The game still records with its full score and result — it just doesn't move ratings.
See Teams & Guests.
What else updates
Milestones advance. Play, Win, Scoring, Clutch, Comeback, and Endurance counters all take their share. Milestone progress never goes backward. See Milestones.
Challenges progress against their daily, weekly, or monthly targets.
Achievements may unlock, if the game completed a challenge or milestone that carries a badge.
Your dashboard stats update across the relevant modes.
Rivalries update if you played someone you have a head-to-head record with. See Rivals.
On a venue court
Finishing a game on a court with a queue triggers the rotation:
- ›Winner stays and plays again
- ›Loser is removed from the queue, and can rejoin to get back in line
In an event or league
The result feeds the bracket or the season standings, and the next match is determined from it. See Reading the Bracket and Seasons & Standings.
Reviewing afterward
Your game history is on your profile, and the Dashboard has the aggregate view.
Your match log keeps the last 14 days on Rookie and the whole archive on Champion — nothing is deleted either way, the window is what changes. The deeper Dashboard groups are Champion too. See What's Included with Champion.
