Live Scoring
Once teams and rules are set, you score the game point by point. The app tracks the rest.
What the app tracks for you
The score, obviously. But also:
Whose serve it is. In side-out scoring this is the thing people lose track of most, and it's the thing that decides whether the last rally was a point or a rotation. The app follows it.
The rotation. In doubles, who's serving from which side.
Time. Total minutes played, which feeds the Endurance milestone chain.
Scoring a point
Award the point to whichever side won the rally. Under rally scoring that's the whole interaction. Under side out, awarding a rally to the non-serving team rotates serve rather than scoring — the app applies that automatically based on your rules.
Fixing mistakes
Mis-taps happen, especially mid-rally with a paddle in one hand. Correct the score and carry on — a wrong score corrected immediately is a non-event.
The thing to avoid is finishing a game on a score nobody agrees with. Sort it out when it happens rather than at the end.
Scoring from a watch
Scoring works from the wrist, which is the better setup when you're actually playing rather than watching.
Phones end up in a bag or on a bench, so scoring from one means walking off court between points and inevitably losing track. Scoring on a watch means tapping between rallies without leaving position.
Both platforms. There's a watch app for Apple Watch and one for Wear OS, and they do the same job — the phone stays wherever you left it and the two keep in sync.
Watch scoring is included on the free tier.
Big Board
For a game with spectators, or for a court where everyone should be able to check the score without asking, open Big Board — a landscape layout designed to be read from a distance.
Timeouts
If your rules allow them, timeouts are available during play. See Timeouts.
Who should keep score
One person, agreed in advance.
Two people both scoring on their own phones is how you end up with two different scores and no way to settle it. Pick a scorer at setup.
When the game ends
The app ends the game when a team reaches the target under your win condition — including running past the target when Win By 2 is on and the score is tight.
See Ending a Game.
